what circumstances do you get the noise? Is it when manoeuvering about at low speeds? Discovery 4 HSE

I get that sometimes as well , i just put it down to the pads closing against the Disc's thats basically all it is , wouldn't worry to much about it......... |

Heard of "shields" on your Family Fords,Vauxhalls, and like but not on the FFRR.

Try taking your pads out, and coating the back (metal side) of them in copperslip - a sort of high temperature anti-corrosion compound - or grease which is commonly used in this application. Just make sure you don't paint it onto the friction linings... Hope this helps, Dan. |

Dan if your brakes squeal, what is that a symptom of and how can it be remedied? My front ones squeal now and then at low speed in traffic. Discovery 4 HSE

RRUK - Remedy wise, although brake squeal can be more of an annoyance than a safety issue there are several possible fixes:
