You can turn the forward alert off from the dash using the steering wheel controls, should be able to find the exact sequence in the owners manual, however, I dont think that this turns off the radar when using cruise control. Ah yes, I have that turned off, so it doesn't jab the brakes if someone turns off for a side rod, miles in front of me. But I still have radar cruise.

do you have a 'distance' setting...maybe stick that to max.... ... - .- -.

I don't think the forward alert brakes if the cruise is switched off. I think it's just an alarm. ( it is on my 2011 VSE)

Radar cruise does nothing until activated. Radar is rhs in bumper gap, it isn't domed like other cars so it's easy to miss.
