That's handy to know, I just ordered a pollen filter for mine as I did a search and it said that could affect the aircon efficiency. A/C currently smells like a wet dog for 5 secs on start up Think i'll be trying the bong Cheers Phooey |

I just read some bomb reviews, and some of them don't seem to last very well! Anybody have a recommendation for one which worked and lasted? Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining! |

The fragrance will never last and just mask the smells for a while, so i suppose its how much bacteria it kills really. 2004 black Vogue TD6 |

I used the halfords one a couple of weeks ago. It works quite well and make it smell a bit newer for a while. It's definitely neutralised the previous owner fat odour, even now after the freshened has faded.

If you use it all the time you generally won't get mould growing on the evaporator as the constant icing up will kill the spores. The other thing it could be is a blocked drain tube allowing stagnant water to pool in the bottom of the unit.

As an extra on my last service my dealer (Stratstone) did an air-con service for £20 which involved them ensuring the coolant was doing its job and also adding a fragrance, and they also did an injector clean for £20 aswell. So had both of them done , at £40 , it was worth it I reckon, as I did notice a drop off in exhaust gases post injector clean (I would normally do this myself via an additive liquid in the fuel tank every so often).
