Iā€™ve been chasing a suspension fault today.

The car was showing an error code saying that it couldnā€™t vent pressure.

I started by telling the IID tool to depressurise the 4 corners and then releasing the unions on the pipes to figure out where it was venting to. Turns out the solenoid on the bottom of the pump just needed a love tap from a spanner. Once Iā€™d tapped this we got a load of air out and the car started to sink.

After it was repressurised the suspension has been working perfectly since.

The pillar covers on the drivers and passengers front door have been annoying me since I got this car too. Iā€™d got 2 new ones to swap them out but seeing as Iā€™d had the battery disconnected for so long Iā€™d not been able to put the window down to get to the screws so today I swapped them out.

Hereā€™s an old v new picture.

After Iā€™d done that, I moved a couple of cars that live in front of the ramp and for the first time in 6 months my Range Rover saw daylight.

Purely by chance, today marks 6 months to the day since the Range Rover went into the workshop. Sunday 13th Februaryā€¦

We then had a very quick run up the private road the farm is on listening for any funny noises. No funny noises, knocks, bangs of noises from the drivetrain that I could hear. However, you canā€™t really get about 20-30mph so not a great test. The temperature gauge stayed perfectly where it needed to be, the gear change was smooth and that engine is silky smooth.

Itā€™s definitely a Supercharged one thoughā€¦ Laughing

As I was sat in it on the driveway with it idling this evening you couldnā€™t tell it was running. It was totally silent and you couldnā€™t feel a thing as it was idling. Exactly what I love about the 4.2 Petrol. Itā€™s a much smoother and quieter engine then the 5.0 Supercharged in my XFR.

Soā€¦ for the first time in 6 months, sheā€™s turned a wheel and seen daylight! Very Happy

Awesome - when I had that fault with the compressor it turn punt the piston had caved in on itself I ended up ditching the hitachi and getting a new amk they are a lot quieter, I debated rebuilding the piston but at the time it had a month lead time and I needed sooner Current stable:

This is an Arnott compressor that runs on the AMK firmware.

Itā€™s an eBay purchase but the date stamp on the compressor is recent so hoping itā€™ll do for a while. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather
