Locks itself on the L322. It’s the locking rear diff that was optional.... standard on some models I think.

Do all L322's have an auto locking center diff? How does it know when to lock up? I have a locking rear and am curious how that knows also. |

I always assumed that these open lock symbols would change to a closed lock symbol in the event that the diff actually activated.

Even if you don’t have a rear locking diff, you will still have the padlock symbol on your 4x4 display, but it will never change colour to indicate it’s locked.....

Never saw the rear lock symbol on mine Mark. Only the centre. Never had cause to use rock crawl tho.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I don’t think my 4x4 info display even has the locks on it but I will have a look later, it’s an early 2007 TDV8.

They found that people used them too much and then not when needed... Use them when not needed and you can easily damage part of the system, forget to lock them when you do need it and the pictures get on youtube showing a Rangie off at it's worse!!
