So what tyre to choose?

Any views....I've got the vibration from the delaminating of foam inside the Conti silent tyres which is annoying as FECK!!! Only as I've had a few punctures.....so needs must....but tbh they aren't the best tread left anyway....Need 4.... Big Cry Big Cry

When does the Merc arrive / how long do you need them for ? That could rule in or out the winter tyres.

BTW - those prices seem on the hight side - I ordered 4 Conti Winters yesterday @ £70 less per corner - delivery only, but £70 seems a lot to fit & balance..... I used Oponeo

I run separate winter/summer tyres and my next summers will be Michelins - they seem to be getting a lot of positive reviews.

As a single tyre, approaching winter, the Scorpion Verde's would likely be a good choice.

Oponeo are good for price.

See if they’ve got the new Scorpion Zero all season, don’t think anyone has tried them yet and you could be the guinea pig..... Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I have the scorpion zero all season... I have 2k km on them so far so good... Rain due later this week so can then see what they are like in the wet...

In just over 2 weeks my Winter Tyres will be fitted... I have gone for the Scorpion Winter as in a few of the German tests they scored higher than the Conti... They were the same priced fitted at my local garage... SDV8 AB MY 2020

Can’t see past the Continental LX Sport for the L405 if 22”. Good tyres that can be had for good prices 👍🏻

Alistair - As of July I still couldn't get a build date for the Merc so I just cancelled it as I don't want to wait that long for a new car tbh, and Ive lost over 6 figures with COVID loss of business with no government support, so I'm going just keep the car for now until next year now, and if I don't see anything I like then I'\ll maybe add an SVO kit to it, so just going to "tidy" the car up and replace the tyres for now and refurb the wheels. It needs a new back brake light so might swap out the lights for SVO ones. all smug in my new plug!

Sounds like it's been a year to forget.

I figured it out - if you select Car and not 4x4 and Summer only - you get 4 results Whistle

My search returns 39......

you could consider buying 'take offs' from ebay and then sell your wheels/tyres to recoup some cash.. ... - .- -.

I've done that before - the cost of the 'take offs' was less than the cost of the tyres & a refurb - and more convenient.

Just be careful that the wheels are genuine - but in most cases, the copies have cheap tyres fitted so easy to spot....

Yeah pretty much a year to forget.....considering this time last year I was going to NYC first class for a week.....seems surreal...

....however I have made an offer on a plot to build a house in the highlands on a loch so tbh I might need something like mine or maybe a Defender tbh

Just need new tyres....

I did look aty some "take offs"......how do garages feel about fitting them has people found?

I did think about a set of 21's for comfort but I'm a bit like you Alistair, I like the double 2's for style.

I've had some real bargains from ebay with take offs but just the tyres . My current set of Pirellis were bought for less than a third of new and had covered less than a few hundred miles. 22' contis on mine when I got it but I found them noisy so changed to Pirelli Verde. 2015 4.4 AB
