Westfillia tow bar seized

Hi have a tow bar that is seized have tried to remove freed the lock but not joy.

my question is at the top of the receiver looks like a removable cap has anyone any experience if this comes off so i can get WD40 in there for a few days to release the corroded bearings?

They are bad for seizing. You could try taking the receiver out of the armature (may also be seized, bolt may be hard to release and removal of stem from armature may need big hammer), turning upside down and letting the releasing oil/WD40 trickle down. Good luck. Only Range Rovers since 1988

England 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

The receiver does indeed have a removable round plastic cap on the top, mine had a lot of overpaint on it so looked part of the
cast iron body. I removed it to clean off surface rust on the taperd bore with a cone wire brush before selling.
It has quite strong snap legs and doesnt come out easily, just be careful when attempting it.
