Least he's replied mate. Just really depends on if you can live without the car a bit longer by sounds of it. I appreciate covid and the weather ain't helped. Seems odd it was originally Monday and now it was Wednesday.

Im lost to be fair. I dont know what the issue is. Surely my car is there so priority. I mean no mine is not most important but for it to be there a month surely you want it gone. Or u would say its a 3 week turn around and then i just accept it. But to have no comms no update its just really weird. Imo Current Cars

Comms has been beyond shocking from what I've seen mate but even if Martin had said, sorry mate I can't get it done for 5 weeks, you still no where you stand with it and can at least decide well do I take it back in 5 weeks time or what

I actually do want to meet Martin. Its his rep on the line. No different to me. My name is my rep. Bad rep I coukd be the best in my head but if the rep is bad its not good. Im not angry im quite chilled but I shouldnt havecto message first. Main dellers experience yes but they have their Censored together from a customer service perspective and not perfect Current Cars

Hi Ash, that's a totally deflating situation you are in. From a customer service perspective, Martin or one of his team should have made more of an effort to keep you up to date even if only on a once a week basis to say what is or isn't being done. The COVID and weather excuse is too easy a card to play by lots of businesses at the moment. Your vehicle was in the garage before the weather turned so realistically should be on the ramp being worked on unless they were waiting for parts to arrive. Any new jobs should have been postponed until the staffing level returned. The fact your vehicle had been parked up "round the back" would imply it's still driveable but not being worked on. I wonder if you are at that point now where you should pull it out and go elsewhere even though that would mean taking a hit on paying for something that isn't fixed. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

100%. I could not have written it better. I cant afford to pay for a non fixed car. What can I do?

Why would they not be working on it? Other jobs cant be more priority as they have had it a month it makes no sense.

What can I realistically do. I dont really want to pay!!! Current Cars

If you are planning on going down there then the best course of action would be to have a conversation with Martin whilst keeping a cool head (easier said than done I know). Explain why you chose them to repair your car and how disappointed you feel with the service so far. Try to get a definitive repair date that you can both agree on. At least this way you'll get an idea of how the garage operates and if you feel you can trust them with your vehicle and to carry out the work.

Ultimately there will be a bill to pay for any work carried out so far if you decide that it's best to walk away and that's going to be a real kick in the teeth but sometimes we are left with no alternative. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

I personally would take the car away from them and not be willing to pay a penny, they have not met a reasonable level of service, their times are excessive and they seem full of excuses. Take it elsewhere. BMW i3 Electric Car

How would I take it back without paying? They have the car and keys. I agree they haven’t really been working on it by the seems of things. Current Cars

Go back and say you wish to take the car away due to the following reasons and list their failings. I believe theyre not allowed to retain the vehicle under these situations, if in doubt, trading standards will advise.

Youve had dreadful service and appalling treatment, you have been a lot more patient than I would have been.

Good luck. BMW i3 Electric Car

I'm not sure you could take the vehicle without paying for any work carried out, I believe that they have already carried out some diagnostic work, someone with a legal background may be able to confirm this either way. As AJ says, taking the vehicle back does seem the preferred option especially if it's in the same state as when you dropped it off as I fear that you are being fitted in between easy money jobs. I would feel somewhat cheated for having to pay out for a repair that hadn't been completed but I would expect to pay for what work had been done. Perhaps a chat with Martin would allow you to agree a price to take it away 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE
