As I have posted in Tech I want to know if I could just replace the loom rather than do the whole sump removal as cb has done as the oil level reading is working fine ????? As Ken has done? overfinch modified

If your oil level sensor is still working, in the interest of cost, I would just clean up and add the bypass loom, as I did.

If it fails further down the line, then do the whole sump removal and replace the harness. Kev

Hi kev .

Exactly this its working fine as I told the dealership today. They say it a sump removal job but not to worry now as its only a slight leak and just an advisory.

I told them can I not just replace the loom as I,m not sure it's the updated version they say no it leaks from the seals.

Its driving me mad to be honest. Perhaps i will buy the part and get it fitted???

Thank you! overfinch modified

Ok so today I took my car to another dealer to get this modification done, they check all updates on my car and it had been done in 2020 so was all ok, oil spotted by the Tech who serviced the car was right as it has an oil trap on the modification.
Still, Exeter had no idea about this and did not even find out if the mod had been done, their answer was to remove the sump and everything when this is not needed as my oil level checker works fine. Oh then it was only an advisory they said.
Today's dealer had the printout for all done and needed updates on my car you would think Exeter would have checked this!
Anyway, a nice drive and it cost nothing so happy. overfinch modified
