These can be very fiddly. You need a small long screwdriver to fit in the hole. You can release one & then have it locate again, when you attempt to release the other side.

I put a new steering wheel on my TD6. Getting the airbag off was the worst bit

On my D3 I got an air bag removal tool. You have to locate the tabs inside and pull them outwards to release the airbag. There is a video by Powerful here that shows how to do it.

This should help, have a look at my flappy paddle thread I made a special tool from a screw driver and took loads of photos to help.

Finally removed with a lot of assorted things poked in the tiny holes ! That done, clock spring was a breeze. |

Gsxr1250dave's photo's should have helped. Looking at the second photo, you can see that it's missed a few times & how tricky it is. |
