It was part of a number of other jobs (oil cooler change/oil service/coolant change).

My gearbox service at London prices was about £290 iirc. I had my supercharger done as well as I was pleasantly surprised for a bit extra |

Thanks, I think I will go for that and do the pan and oil as much as I can then do the oil again in a few months to get more flushed out.

8 speed has a thermostat in line nr the front cooler so it's not as easy to replace all the oil in one go. You also won't replace the torque convertor oil either.

You seem to be doing what I intend doing. Only difference is, I have to pay someone to do it. First fluid change was the brake fluid when I had new discs and pads. Tomorrow is gearbox and engine oil change, seems like a long job but like yours, it needs doing. I get a message on start-up, -6000 mile oil service. Dreading the cost but I trust the garage so fingers crossed. Will let you know the final cost. Next will be a coolant change, I managed the screenwash myself.... |
