Cabin (pollen) filter

I have been quoted £37 for a cabin filter at LR, the basic one, no charcoal or anything.

So I ordered a Mahle LAO 490 (also compatible with several other LR models and the I-Pace) here: https://www.autodoc.de/mahle-original/11602748
for £16.5, that is not only antibacterial and anti allergic, but also has a sturdier construction, foam on the sides, etc.

that looks good. Be interested to hear if it stops the vile e-cigarette smell coming in from nearby cars! 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

So far, no smell got through - and I live in a busy city... Tried driving with windows open and it was unbearable...

Funnily enough, I was looking at these last night. I was wondering how much better the antibacterial one is compared to the carbon or whether it's just marketing hype.

I'm glad you're happy with yours, I may just have to try one too. Kev

Pretty sure there is a noticeable difference as it vastly reduces the terrible fumes from the heater that seep into earlier cars. I've just ordered another.

I tested yesterday with the window open and closed - clearly there is a huge difference. I am positive there were fumes entering the car with the original filter. Now there is no smell at all... And hey, it's cheaper than the JLR one! Less than 1/2 price!

Just the one for the cabin filter. Two for the engine air filter. Kev

So based on adara's recommendation, I also purchased the Mahle LAO 490 filter (£17.60). Out of curiosity, I also purchased the Mann equivalent filter, Mann FP 1919 (£15.10), which, just like the Mahle is antibacterial etc. Both purchased from Autodoc.

Whilst the Mann filter has more ribs than the Mahle, the Mahle feels like a much better product, sturdier construction etc. I'll still use the Mann, but I think it will just be Mahle for me afterwards.

Thanks for the recommendation adara Thumbs Up
