TDV8 AC condenser damaged/replacement

So after picking it up at the weekend I’m starting to prepare for getting a few jobs done, first up is sort the AC out, I got it put on the machine today at work, wouldn’t hold a vacuum and no gas in the system at all had a quick look around and this part was loose as if it had completely fallen out from the bottom, looks like part of the AC condenser to me?.

I’m going to order a new one and hopefully fit it at the weekend, how difficult are they to do?, I’m guessing this is the most common area that the AC fails as it is at the front of the car and gets hit by lots of stones etc?.
Going to fit this then take it back in to work and see if it will then hold a vacuum and regas.
