Anyone else get this? Car smells hot after any drive once it gets up to temp. Checked the coolant temp via IID and it sits around 99-103 C.

Difficult to tell exactly where is coming from but I can smell it when stopped and getting out of the car 1995 4.6 v8, green/tan (long gone)

Hot, as in, "oily hot" then one would suspect the infamous oil cooler leak & associated 'O' rings etc.
If it's an overheating kinda smell & all indications are that the temperature is ok, then I'm stumped, sorry!

Have to say, that temperature looks a tad high, then I'm an old fart & remember when all cars had 88 degs thermostats in them, the more modern day vehicle may well run hotter.
There are far more learned friends on here that will come along in a mo. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

I'm with Fox on the hot and oily smell.

May be worth checking the hub temps to see if a caliper is binding, assuming you haven't already. Cheers

I would put the bonnet lid in the vertical service position.
Remove the cabin air filter box, ..2x 13mm nuts., seconds of a job.
Find something to stand on and get a good look down the back of the engine so you can see the bellhousoing.
If it’s clean and dry then you have ruled out the leaking O rings.

I used to get a hot antifreeze/coolant smell from mine. I had a lot of trouble bleeding all the air out, but I've also put on a new expansion tank cap and it doesn't smell anymore. Might be worth checking coolant level?

Here are pictures, can’t see anything wet. There is a faint coolant smell around the expansion tank but only when you’re right on top of it. No dampness anywhere. May need to get underneath

As Kevin has mentioned the expansion cap curing his "smell" it might be worth getting a new one if not too expensive, it may be that it's lost some of it's strength and is venting more than it should, hence the smell. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

Coops, i think you should take her for a run then check the temp of each wheel and see if one is getting hotter than the others? This could point to a sticking caliper as mentioned above...

Secondly, Have a good look underneath and see if there are any signs of oil staining on the undertrays?
