Fitting a dash cam using passenger compartment fuse box

Hi guys,

I want to install a dash cam into my car, can anyone recommend a ‘live on ignition’ fuse to use so I can hardwire the system in place. I do not like having loads of wires over the dashboard I would have by simply using the 12v socket.

Many thanks,
Neil

Hi Neil
Good idea. I fitted mine recently but it depends on what year your car is.
It might be an idea to add the details to your profile then members can advise as the fuses aren’t the same for all model years.

I have answered my own question...

I will put it next the to fuse box in the rear of the car. There are a couple of good empty fuses to piggyback off.

From dash cam down the passenger side of the car. I have A pillar, door rubber, b pillar, door rubber and then down the c pillar...

For the rear camera I have... Tail gate panel, rear spoiler (you feed down into tail gate ),
Into car by rear spoiler, headliner (dont know if I need to do that, d pillar and then follow the power cable to the front of the car...

To know how to remove these panel can I look it up in Topix or is it easy to do? SDV8 AB MY 2020
