So, just got back to our holiday cottage in my brand new (picked up 3 weeks ago) P400e AB. Have been delighted with it so far, although the passenger window has been sticking a little the past couple of days. I thought no big deal and emailed the dealer to get it fixed when back from hols next week.

Unfortunately the window has now done this and will not move of its own accord. It has clearly fallen out of its mechanism somehow. Not sure how this happens on a brand new car, but there you go. Spoke to a nearby dealer service place who told me not a quick job and not an easy fix. Land Rover assistance sending someone to make it watertight for the no doubt biblical rains that will come this evening... fuming!!! Hopefully the nearby dealer will be able to fix properly if the Land Rover assistance can’t sort tonight.

never seen that before , especially on a new vehicle...

it'll have to be a door card off job and the window re-positioned... ... - .- -.

Thanks Stan - and it was a full job to pull the door apart. Thankfully Land Rover Assistance sent a pretty good AA guy, who took the full door panel off, took off the sub panel and then managed to realign the window on its runners.

It’ll have to be properly checked when I can get it back to the dealership, but at least for now it’s back up and secure / weathertight.

Apparently according to him, it’s happened a couple of times on JLR cars Recently so not an unknown problem. He reckons they didn’t clip it in to the runner properly when it was built... Grrrr... L405 P400e Autobiography Eiger Grey (MY20)

Ive not had the pleasure of playing with drop window glass in the facelift 405 but maybe its like the D4 system? Two big plastic clips that holds the window to the runner? There are videos on YouTube to show you how too remove the window

Thanks Craig, I’m not the expert, but it did look as you describe, with two big clips on two runners. Took the guy an little while to reposition it and get the glass then slotted back between the seals correctly.
Unfortunately it looks like he broke the clip that joins the internal door release to the cable when he pulled off the outer panel. He tells me he did a temporary fix of that but will need to get properly fixed at the dealer.
