Go and have a good look at your seat speakers and satisfy yourself that they are not speaker blanks! At a glance they look like the real thing but under close inspection... Thumbs Up

I was going to ask if it used all the speakers in a normal sound mode and whether you'd tried one of the surround / meridian settings. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Hi Wilpert, if it helps I have the signature system and music should come out of all the speakers, including the ones above your head, ITS FOR 5.1 SURROUND SOUND and is amazing. I'll check my settings next time I go out, but there are a few options, from memory you have, stereo, Dolby digital and meridian digital. I know on the either of the two digital settings it plays through all the speakers.

Thanks Dave,
I’m thinking it might be a loose wire or fuse.
Do you know what number fuses are for the sound system?
Where is the amp etc located, can I get to it to look at the connections?

Thanks
Craig

I will check this out.
Although the dealership said it had signature system on the build spec.
The dealer I bought from is adamant that the roof speakers are only for driver and passenger communication.

Now I’m confused.

The Amp is under your passenger seat and would need your seat removing to check the connections sir... Thumbs Up

L5 & Signature confirm that it's the 1700W 29 speaker Meridian.

Stan posted a link that provides details of the speaker locations.

There's a feature called Conversation Assist - a few clues here -

It's entirely possible that the roof speakers are dedicated to that - DrF indicates as much -

Ok update, I set my radio to a dab classical station and it was the first time that the front roof speakers played, the sound was awesome so crisp and clear. The rear seat speakers are still dead but I’m thinking they aren’t any part of the signature reference system?

Rear seat speakers are very much part of the system

Have you checked all the menu options - there may be a way to turn them off for rear seat passengers ?

hmm,

that makes me more confused, the car in the video has rear entertainment and I wonder if this is part of the equation, mine doesnt have that just the speakers but those speakers dont work.

I think I will need to get some specific replies from either LR (who really dont seem to know the answer) or maybe call Meridian tech department, (assuming such a place exists) the rest of the speakers work fine and maybe there is sound coming from them but only intermittently when its a certain typre of music.
I say this because the top ones above the driver and front passengers head only give out a sound when I play something like classical or dire straits electric guitar, i.e. high pitch sounds.

ah, just saw that about menu options, no i havent checked this and TBH i dont really know how to but i will look into it.
I have tried the fade and 3 d sound options, which i would have thought would cover this, i have even set the fade fully to the rear and no sound from these speakers?

The rear entertainment system etc - I wouldn't rely on What HiFi to get it right

Options vary with the model year as to what's included - and there may well have been an entertainment package that included both Signature Audio & Rear Seat Entertainment. What the video does say though is that the rear seat speakers are part of the audio system & should work.

I have emailed "tech guy" at Meridian but I wont hold my breath for a reply.
FWIW it's not a deal breaker for me if they arent supposed to work, I just dont want something in the car that should work but doesnt.

Lets see what the tech guy comes up with if he/she gets back to me.

So now for my next question Very Happy
How difficult would it be to upgrade to install an entertainment system in the rear seats.
I would only want to do it if it would be unobtrusive and not silly money?

Depends what you want to achieve......

It's been discussed many times on here - my opinion is get a couple of iPads.

The built in system is very expensive & dates quickly, but allows you to control it from the front.

if you're still concerned about your speakers Wilpert, take a look in the WM ..there are a couple of pdf's that explain the speaker system and how to diagnose problems. ... - .- -.
