A/C and rear blowers auto starting.

Hi all.

I've recently bought an L322, A 2010 3.6 SE at it is superb!

One question though, on starting the engine, the rear blower control on the drivers centre console and A/C auto start as well as the main auto temp control when you start the engine, even when stone cold.

I can't find reference to it in the handbook or any mention elsewhere on the net.

I'm sure it's very easily disabled but it is becoming annoying as it is unnecessary.

Anyone any ideas how to disable it?

Many thanks in advance.

G

Ref the rear aircon switch, no you can’t do anything. It always comes in automatic and you have to wait 5 secs before manually switching it off.

The auto button: if you switch the aircon off before meaning the car, it should stay off whe you start up. At elast mine does!

Hi Dolphinboy.

Thanks for that. I never use the A/C and it is switched off when I'm driving. There are no climate controls in use at all when the car is parked and switched off, but, on restarting, the A/C and rear blowers start up, the latter sounding like they are at full speed.

It doesn't seem quite right, like it's a preference set by the previous owner.

I've test driven plenty of them and not one displayed the same behaviour so I'm a little puzzled.

Hhhmm not sure why that is. I would echo those with the knowledge on This forum who all recommend you have the aircon on at all times as it not only stops the seals drying out, but also removes water vapour from the air inside the car.

Mine did this for years until I replaced the battery, after that it would remember the settings I left it on when switching car off, hope that helps 2010 tdv8 vogue se, Buckingham Blue

I’ve never turned my air con off after I got a £700 bill 20 years ago.... keeps the rubber seals lubricated and stops the windows steaming up.

I’m pretty sure mine stays off if I turn it off....

The rear.... that’s a different story and it always turns on when you start the car. I think mine has manual blower control in the rear though.... I don’t travel in there so not studied....

I keep the rear blower dial set to off.
Button on dash for rear ac has a mind of its own. Sometimes it stays off between start ups, sometimes it comes back Rolling Eyes Big Cry Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
