United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Cooled seats. Notorious for not working 100% and bit of work to sort them I’ve read.
I’d be more concerned about the oily bits to be honest Ben Thumbs Up
Call me a snob but I prefer a Vogue SE badge than Westminster. Reminds me too much of politics Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Tinman, cheers for the auction link. I'll check it out.

DrRob, thanks for the heads up regarding the seats. Mechanicals are definite first, cooled seats area. close second! if its light coloured leather I'm not so worried.

It's interesting how everyone's specific requirements are so different; I've narrowed my choice down to a 4.4 TDV8, but would actually prefer the Vogue for the smaller wheels, while the cooled seats are right down the bottom of the list! The only thing I'd really like is adaptive cruise, but like for like with mileage and condition you seem to end up paying c£2k for a car which has it, something I'm not willing to do.

Similarly, I also need convincing not to buy one! Every time I look at what £13-20k gets you, very little of it appeals, despite mist of it probably being a more logical choice. I already have a 330bhp Impreza so I don't need speed, albeit progress making is a must, but everything else is just so bland. And anyway, lots else still looks like its got wallet inducing issues when you start looking at the interesting stuff that sits away from the manual 1.5 diesel focus estates etc.

Cooled seats easy fix albeit fiddly cost is an eye-watering couple of hundred and usually point to the heating part not working first? I did mine?

VSE seats are nicer than the westies....

I’m not sure you are being in realistic, but as a reference My 12 traded at £13k in March and was up for £17k on a small dealer site for ages. And that was a vogue, 4.4 without many toys and 68k on the clock. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I bought what I think was cheapest 4.4 tdv8 in the country. I’ll start a thread when I get time.

Get what works for you, just keep a stack of change to fix it. 1995 4.6 v8, green/tan (long gone)
2005 4.8iS X5, blue/black
2011 4.4 tdv8, black/black (gone)
2003 3.0d X5, Oxford green/black/manual
2021 p575 SVR, BR green/vintage tan

if miles are not an issue you will certainly be able to get one under £13k
AJGalaxy sold his a while back and IIRC had little interest, eventually it went for very low money and his was very well looked after, it wanted for nothing.

Netherlands 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

I saw loads earlier this year, but I wanted a 5.0SC as they are cleaner on the environment, and as standard are much better specified with what I found important. Definitely wouldn't touch a Westie for the seats/leather alone. And yes cooled/heated seats are lovely...

Just be patient, and prepared to travel and the right one will come around.

Bl4ckD0g are the Westminster seats that bad?? Surely even a 2001 FF has seats that are more comfortable than any vehicle other than a Rolls Royce? Westminsters do seem to command a premium on AT and eBay though but reading through here they just seem to be a certain spec Vogue.

Just to be clear, mileage takes a second place to owners and condition. More than happy to have 120k plus if it’s in good nick and low owners with plenty of history.

It will be a working vehicle too - I’m a marine engineer - but will be looked after and hopefully will be a long term keeper. I’m under no illusion that maintenance and a little expenditure are what these old girls need.

The more you all post responses, the more I want one. I’d not even considered the SC.....🤦‍♂️

Unnecessary quote removed

Naturally, context is everything, and everyone has an opinion.

I find the difference in quality of leather very noticeable, it is not fair to describe as harsh as it is better than that, but it does remind me of the Mercedes artificial artico leather. And no, in my opinion a 2001 FF does not have seats that are more comfortable than any vehicle. Perhaps controversial on this forum, but I don't think those seats are that good, nor is it a nice place to be in. Feels very dated, I personally wouldn't consider it, but I'm sure it is the same across the 405 versions. I would find the seats out of a Saab of that era more comfortable.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying a Westminster is bad, it can be a very nice car. But I was disappointed that actually it is not that good of a specification and you can get either Vogue SE or Autobiography that are much better specified. Heated/Cooled seats, nice quality soft leather just everywhere. Considering they are all so cheap, I'd just go take a look and get the one you really like. My favourite edition is the Autobiography Black.

But it is just the opinion of one person.

Bl4ckD0g, thank you for your opinion. I understand where you're coming from its good to get a different view. Having never been in an L322 I can't yet comment on seat comfort, I was rightly or wrongly assuming they were amazing and having only been in an L320 which I thought was lovely I cannot comment! Cheers for the advice.

TJRL tell me more?

Cheers

Hi Ben, if you get a chance take a look at last September's issues of Land Rover Monthly and my posting in the "my Range Rover" area:-

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic52796.html

I am loving my FFRR adventure so far and fettling up the cosmetic issues picked up in the article (only upper tailgate left to do).

All the best for your L322 hunt. Thumbs Up
