Should I or Shouldn't I ?

So, I've got a wanted ad in the For Sale section but I've also been watching Ebay and saw a car for sale.

2008 TDV8 3..6 - 101000 Miles

The advert said he only had some history and was an enthusiast who has carried out a number of services himself since he's owned it, including gearbox oil change etc. (which he does have a receipt for) He's selling as his brother is getting rid of his TDV8 4.4 and wants that instead.

I've done some digging and have found out the history from new was all Land Rover dealer done on the dot every year up till the service was due in 2018: Since then it's done 14k miles.

MOT history all looks good with almost all passes and only fail back in 2014 where parts were replaced.

He's sent me loads of photos and it all looks very good to me.

What's everyones thoughts, foolish or not ? Price £7,000

Looks nice and clean to me mate and at a reasonable price. If it drives OK and you like it, go for it.

Buy it.

I appreciate he has the receipt for the gearbox oil change but maybe ask if he has receipts for all service items to prove he has serviced himself. I do all of my own service and maintenance and I do exactly this for proof to the next owner. Kev

I'm guessing you've seen the excellent Harry's Garage video on these as well as those on the Range Rover Owner YouTube channel? 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE: Buckingham Blue

Yes I thought Harry's Garage was a good review and YouTube is a great resource for lots of questions I've had about things that can go wrong and how to fix them or at least try and fix before they go wrong.

Cheers Thumbs Up

Seems like good value to me...I had a TDV8 back in 2010 and that was nearer £30k (depreciation for you)! 2021 L405 Vogue D300

Just a thought,
I'd be inclined to do a HPI check, I did this for my fatty just to make sure there were no
outstanding loans against the vehicle, it will also show if the reg had been changed at any time and a loan taken
out against the other reg number before it reverting back to the original one.
