I know cars can have unused connectors on a harness depending on whether your variant has certain things, but does anybody have any ideas re one I came across yesterday? Taking off the drivers door card to replace the door mirror assembly I disconnected the two plugs for the mirror but left everything else connected. I then noticed a small plug hiding amongst the others that wasn't connected and didn't seem to have anywhere to plug it in. It is a very small two pin connector with two wires - one brown and the other white with red stripe. I tried everything when I put back the door card and it all worked. Any ideas? QUID FACIUM TIBI

Open RAVE and the wiring diagrams. Search for WR. That will find any wires that are white/red. I've used this method a lot on the P38A.

They should all be connected as the Vogue has the electrochromatic mirrors as standard.....but, having replaced one on my 2011, they are £140 from a dealer, against about £40 for a normal one, so I guess it's been broken in the past.... does the other side look the same colour? If you shine a light on the rear view mirror, the correct ones will darken....

Sorry - the unconnected plug is in the wiring harness clipped to the door and originates from inside the car. I have installed the correct Electrochromatic mirror and the plug doesn't seem to be anything to do with that.... QUID FACIUM TIBI

The only 2-wire plug I can think of is the anti-trap but that has brown/red and brown wires according to the wiring diagrams.

I've just had a similar thing happen, but only this time it was a 4 pin plug that has a doppelganger in the drivers door. I've had the card off numerous times for issues like folding mirrors not working, illumination lights not working in the bottom utility compartment, etc. I had to remove the wing mirror for repairs which means unplugging all the card plugs so I can put it asside. Upon reassembly there a 2, 4 pin plugs (same configuration) one that comes out of the wing mirror and one that comes out thru the inside of the door.. presumably to connect to the switches on the top of the door card. There is a male and a female plug of the same config coming out of the inner door. I think I have completely stuffed it up cos when I put everything together I noticed that the electochromatic rearview mirror on the windscreen began to self destruct before my eyes. It was like spots on the mirror that got bigger, then more spots appeared, then it seemed to boil.. I could smell it. its now next to impossible to use at all. The passenger side mirror seems to have damage too. This hasnt happened before and for the life of me I couldnt remember what I did the previous times I reassembled..
