May seem a daft answer, but how long have you had the FF and has the previous owner turned the airbag off to fit a kiddies seat?

Hi Richard, I’ve had the car since September last year but haven’t driven it too much. I had a good read through the user manual and quick start guide and this is what highlighted the amber air bag light to me. I have checked the key switch that turn the passenger air bag off and this was in the “ON” position so I turned it back and forth a couple of times just to make sure it turned. Problem is there isn’t a lot of information about what comes on when and how long it should be on for. The user manual will tell you what each warning means but not when to expect it to appear apart from an obvious fault. |

Sorry about that Denni, I was hoping it could be something simple, rather like me. I'll have a look at mine in the morning and see if I can gve an idea of how long each light stays on when starting the FF.

Hi Richard, no question is a daft question. It is so easy to overlook the obvious so it never hurts to put a prompt in. It would have been nice had it been as simple as the switch being off but I'm rarely that lucky. I haven't done the hard reset yet so that's something to have a look at, especially as the car hasn't turned a wheel for a over a month now due to lockdown |

Have you got a Ctek on it to keep battery topped up? Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Hi Dr Rob, no I just tend to give it a charge every few weeks to top it it up as I don't want to let the battery go completely flat on me. |

If you are using a "normal" 12v battery charger, make sure you disconnect the battery, the spike of amps when you switch it on can play havoc...

There is a red airbag warning light. I have one showing at the moment for the drivers wheel one. It is following a problem with the connections to the rotary coupler. According to the quick start guide the amber light should be just outside the TFT screen as shown in the picture below, or is this just another red herring chucked in to fool people, a bit like the early TFT screenshots that showed audio information in the screen.

Yes it's a 2011 model, just been out to check as I saw 2 amber lights listed in the picture. None of these are present for me, had a quick look under the seat and all connections are plugged in. Will have to find plugs for dash and perhaps curtain bag too I guess. Once I get a minute I will start with the battery disconnect, hard reset, battery full charge and run the diagnostics again |
