Funny enough, yes, on Saturday on the motorway I got the same noise only for about 5 sec, haven't heard it before and hasn't done it since, I thought it might have been the top section of the drivers door seal as it needs a new clip from when it froze to the bodywork and got pulled off when it was below freezing around Christmas time 2006 Mercedes CLS

LOL, I had the same issue a while back. Mine turned out to be a combination of a rag and a 1L can of oil wedged in with the battery. If there's anything in that space other than the battery it whistles big time.

I have had the same experience! Sounds exactly as you describe - blowing over the top of a bottle - seems to come from under the steering wheel. Seems to happen only when cruising on the highway, perhaps twice to three times an hour. I don't have the FBH, so it can't be that. mentioned it to the dealer, but they can't even sort out a squeaky front suspension.... |

The scuttle panel can lift around 50-60 seems to be its "sweet spot" |

windscreen washer pipes vibrating on the scuttle near battery also causes a similar noise at 70ish |

Hmmm! The battery was replaced too, I wonder if the washer pipes were disturbed... |

How did you fix? Off with the scuttle, new tape and back on? |
