Ireland 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black
TDV8 ERG Valves

Anyone blanked off the ERG Valves on a TDV8?
Any noticable difference in performance?

What's the experienced FFRR Owner opinion on the subject. Would like to get a Tuning job done on mine, but haven't identified a reputable FFRR TDV8 experienced tuning house in Ireland yet. Having read many of the articles on the EXCELLENT fullfatrr.com forum (Overfinch Vs JE, etc.) I have come to the opinion that it's not something that should be left to a "throw-in a black box" merchant. FullFat Porridge

Experience shows the TDV8 EGR valves to be much longer lived than those on the TDV6 so there's probably not a lot to be gained from blanking them off. I'm not even sure it's possible since the TDV8 commenced life right about the time when the TDV6 was modified such that blanking off caused engine errors.

Regarding tuning, the TDV8 responds well to careful re-mapping but you are right to be cautious about letting any old Tom, Dick or Harry near it. Plenty of info on here regarding reputable places to do this.

I have a 2002 L322 with the M62 V8 petrol engine and the check engine light came on recently.
The dealers tell me I may have an EGR valve sticking and quoted a lot of money for them to fix it.
Can anyone tell me what is an EGR valve, where is it and is this an easy DIY job.
Thanks.
