Experience shows the TDV8 EGR valves to be much longer lived than those on the TDV6 so there's probably not a lot to be gained from blanking them off. I'm not even sure it's possible since the TDV8 commenced life right about the time when the TDV6 was modified such that blanking off caused engine errors.

If you have a DPF do not blank off the EGR valve.... Not sure which model you have.

I have a 2002 L322 with the M62 V8 petrol engine and the check engine light came on recently.
