Yes I replaced the main battery a few months ago (which was actually still good as I have it fitted to a telehandler now) so the battery monitor obviously doesn't discriminate between the two. The aux battery is genuinely at end of life. The main problem I had is almost all info leads you to the very small EK 151 @ 15ah and 200CCA whereas the correct battery for the early AB (or certainly mine) is the EK 700 @ 70ah and 760 CCA which is vastly different. On top of that you cannot see specification info on the original JLR Exide battery without disconnecting and removing which I was reluctant to do without having the new correct battery to fit due to possible electrical issues. Add to that if you search Halfords and compare their 096 AGM to the L405 (which is the same as a EK 700) it says it will not fit. The same applies to Amazon if you search the EK 700 and most other battery suppliers as well. I seem to recall seeing an image you posted which shows your battery to be the same as mine so as said, that's what it is. The saving grace was an online uk firm called Advanced Factors who show a very useful diagram of the L405, the battery location and battery type. My AB has the executive rear seating with another cooler etc. so maybe that spec together with FBH and so on has higher demands on power hence the big aux battery?
