TD V8 4.4 am I missing a pipe from here ?

Ok guys have a look at this, front right hand side of TDV8 4.4 this valve/sensor appears to have a pipe missing from it or does it take in air here or vent off

Its definitely a missing hose. It could be the solenoid for the inlet isolation valve for the secondary turbo which is located directly below but the valve not operating would cause various air-flow faults so probably not for that valve. I can have a look at mine in a while.

Looking at the parts diagram the missing pipe appears to be the one going to the turbo isolation valve, part number LR022879 - pipe, vacuum control to turbo valve. I'll have a look at mine within the hour.

Yes, it is what I thought. The pipe runs upwards a little before jumping forwards to then run down the side of the radiator to the turbo isolation valve. There should be several faults for inlet air pressure discrepancy etc.

Thanks Johnboy. I was able to compare the picture with the workshop manual accessory belt diagram to get my bearings then fortunate that the solenoid was visible. If it had been anywhere else on the engine I probably would have been lost.

Thumbs Up
since access is so good you might want to think about the NS exhaust manifold sensor which usually cause an error code. Search P040D-00 (2F)

also turbo drain mod?

. Cheers, Greg

And while you are there to the tensioner and pulleys on the drive belts and the belts....sooooo much easier now. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

How many miles are on the engine?

Semi common failure on the alternator. Which is so tempting to say to change as it is just sitting there, nice and ready to take out and swap!! It’s probably fine, but there’s no way to tell when it’s about to fail and it’s a fairly pinchy job to do normally! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
