Would you not have to track down the original owner (it would be on a sales invoice) or try to locate and get the original selling dealer to agree to sharing that information with you (perhaps via a redacted version of the original invoice)?

As already mentioned, the only way to get to find out the original purchase price would be from the original owner direct. Due to the ever changing data protection laws I can't see a dealer parting with any financial information. Even trying to work it out from base cost plus extras would only be a best guess as the supplying dealer may well have sold at a different price due to stock, time of year and special events.

I would cynically suggest that it is just an educated guess by the seller to try and show how much of a "bargain" their car is. |

I think that British Car Auctions & Autotrader, for the trade only, can provide an accurate list price for a car including extras when new... |
