I just ordered some new xenon bulbs for my 2008 L322. I fancied something good so chose the Osram Nightbreaker Extreme bulbs in cool blue.

Says this in the listing, so I’m guessing they are not new and might have defects etc?

Loads of fakes around, watched a whole programme dedicated to them last year. Osram have authenticity checker on their site. |

That’s good then. New ones seem to be well over £100 on Amazon. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I paid £144 for two D3S ones (not for a RR).had to replace as one went, not that convinced I’ve noticed much difference over the standard ones despite the claims. |

I would not rely on it 100%. Some years ago we used to source Osram MR16 Halogen Bulbs by the outer case for shop display lighting. The packaging had information such as manufacturing/batch dates that was correct & was that good that Osram themselves could not tell the fakes from the genuine product until the bulbs themselves were checked. We sourced them from reputable distributors & somehow, they got into the supply chain. Absolutely anything can be faked - after all, if a bulb that cost (us) 35p is worth faking then bulbs that cost 100 times that defiantly are. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6 |

Just to update this. I misunderstood the ebay returns process. The seller has not said he will take the return so I'm doing a PayPal Money Back guarantee thing.

In general there is nothing wrong with no name Xenons, I had a set from China for very little money for more then 8 years and still nice and bright shining. BTW 6000K is far to blue, I would never go above 5000K because I like to see something at night. 6000 is close to blue, so no real light in the dark.
