Either one has their fans. In a FFRR, my preference is the V8, but have been content with the V6 in the old shape RRS and in 300HP form in an F Pace. Some report crankshaft issues with the V6, but over 6 years of owning cars with that engine I had no issues. The V8 is smoother in my experience and seems to have more torque available. It really comes down to personal choice. Try both and see which floats your boat |

I am on my 16th RR - and we have had literally dozens of RR’s in the family in every engine configuration - all the TDV8’s / SDV8’s and Supercharged have been absolutely faultless - no exceptions. The one and only V6 Diesel we had lunched on it’s own crankshaft and shat it’s guts - that was enough for us. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

No, it had a full LR main dealer service history, we did receive a “fairly” substantial contribution due to the FLRSH - we were told if it wasn’t for this we would have been on our own - my response was WTF it’s a known manufacturing fault, why should we be grateful - it’s a manufacturing and / or design fault. The well publicised failures prove this. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

Assuming it’s diesel you’re looking for, the V8 comes with much more powerful brakes, has “Active Lean Control” ( which really does stop it from leaning in the corners) and has a locking rear diff. All good things to have. |

The TDV6 also has just the one turbo, which does give it a bit of a flat spot when trying to pull out of a junction from a standing start. |
