hi, welcome..i get around 220 out of 60 pounds worth of petrol on the run with a little town driving,

Thanks Daveo, so in rights i should see about 400+ out a full tank of fuel??
My mate who was on here rory_mcwilliam was saying he used to see 350ish out his v8 but he drove his quite hard, will be a bonus if i was to get that from changing the PVC hoses.

PCV's is a good start, there are 2 hoses on top and 2 beneath that when fail allow unmetered air to enter the engine.

You really shouldn't be driving the car whilst the MIL is on unless you are confident that the cause is benign.

The manual is quite explicit with its warning:

The light illuminates as a bulb and
system check when the starter
switch is turned on, and
extinguishes as soon as the engine is started.

Illumination at any other time indicates an
engine fault - if the light illuminates or flashes
while driving, avoid high speeds and seek
qualified assistance urgently.

When an engine replacement will run to the tune of around 5K it really isn't worth driving it into the ground for the want of a fault code being read.

That being said - it is still more likely to be a vacuum leak from a gaping PCV hose.
