Thank you mouse, I have spoken to her and she has plenty of both pain killers & ibroprofin from the hospital, who incidentally have been flipping excellent!

I had a friend come over for skiing. He maybe skied 10 metres before falling over and breaking his leg. There wasn't even an incline.

Glad she's ok.

Glad to hear she is Ok. These things happen. I managed to smash up my face one year before I’d even got to the slopes, slipped on some ice in ski boots, while holding skis and poles, first thing to break my fall was my cheek and eye .....

I hope she doesn’t have any ideas about Skiing in a cast. I’m pretty sure that insurers may frown on that and if she were to fall up the slope and need heli recovery (heaven forbid) then that is £££ if the insurer declines the claim. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Not obligatory but may be taken into account by your insurance if you have an accident and do not have appropriate equipment. As Stan says, chains would be wise in case of need and would cover it.

From the Swiss Govt website:

Les pneus d’hiver sont-ils obligatoires

“En Suisse, aucune obligation légale ne stipule que votre véhicule doit être équipé de pneus d’hiver. Néanmoins, le conducteur se doit de toujours garder la maîtrise de son véhicule.

Aussi, en cas d’accident, sa responsabilité est mise en cause si sa voiture n’est pas équipée pour l’hiver. L’assurance peut alors réduire ses prestations ou même se retourner contre lui pour négligence. “

Which says as I have put it. HTH
Hope she makes a speedy recovery Thumbs Up John

As Weegie said. If you're in an accident the police are likely to take a very dim view of it.

I've never had a set of chains, and you rarely see cars here using them. I can only think of a couple of occasions they would have been useful to me - during a storm. You would be unlikely to need them as most of the roads to Davos are not snow covered. That may change in a storm however.

Weegie's quote translated, for those of you who don't speak French, or can't use google. Laughing

Quote:
“In Switzerland, there is no legal requirement that your vehicle must be fitted with winter tires. However, the driver must always keep control of his vehicle.

Also, in the event of an accident, his responsibility is called into question if his car is not equipped for the winter. The insurance can then reduce his benefits or even turn against him for negligence. "

For the last time, I promise. Landrover sell a very useful snow traction system, easy to fit. I know someone selling some at a good price. Thumbs Up
