I seem to have a serious battery drain going on.

I noticed when I returned to the car yesterday that the battery seemed to have emptied during the day. I wasn't sure where it should have been but I would have guessed 50% and it was at 0%. Odd.

I drove it home on petrol and plugged the thing in. Came down the next morning after about 10 hours of charging to find it was only at 75%. Odd.

Drove to station. Parked up with battery at 25% (about right). Returned 12 hours later to find it at 3%. Odd.

I've not been pinging the car from the app. I've not used the remote heater.

The only new thing is I did an over-the-air software update a couple of days ago.

Anyone got any ideas?

It's been colder - which I guess takes something out gf the batteries, but shouldn't be that much.

Maybe the % are skewed & you need a full charge to kind of reset things ?

Yes, the cold will have an effect but this, as you say, is a huge magnitude wrong

My thoughts too

I suspect that the climate control must have been firing - it is the only thing that could eat that much power whilst parked. When I drove it home, I turned the CC off and back on again to see if that resets something.

Surely the CC must work with the vehicles main starting battery? Not the drive batteries.......

Software update would be my first port of call sir...

I believe that the PHEV has an electric heater matrix driven off the drive battery. For instance, it will heat the car in all-electric mode and you can preheat the car whilst plugged in without the engine firing or the drive battery depleting significantly.

Car parked at station with 62% battery charge - let's see what happens when I get back.

Came back to the car after c12hr.

Battery at 36% - so lost 26%.

Spoke to the Technical Query bit of Land Rover Assistance. They had no idea, so it is off to the dealer with it.

its a shame you cant do a system restore back to before the update to see if it is the update at fault.. ... - .- -.

Seriously, this is either ambient temperature or software, like software being overly protective of something and miscalculating what % to show on the screen. What could be interesting is if you would drive it to zero and observe if it is different to happier times.

Yes, still like it. It works well under most circumstances. Unless you need to tow (and as long as you have somewhere to charge it), it is the best powertrain they offer currently, IMHO.
