It's definitely coming from this shaft, I cleaned it all up. Moved car forwards and backwards and checked again and it was wet again so leaking out on rotation. I'm hoping someone may have had same issue and can tell me it's a simple 10 min fix

Probably wishful thinking though, everything seems difficult on this car Sad

so the car passed the mot yesterday, got an advisory on this oil leak so keen to have a go myself now I'm not rushing to get it done to mot deadline. has anyone any firsthand experience how to go about, how complicated is it?

its definitely coming out from this driveshaft as i can clean it off, start the car and move back and forth and its leaking again

any help much appreciated

If its leaking down the bell housing it may be coming off the V between the cylinders which indicates a problem possibly with the oil filter housing/fuel cooler assembly. Mine has had this leak for over a year but the leak on mine is really small so I haven't got round to fixing it. Its a relatively big job to get at the assembly to inspect or replace. On mine it doesn't drop oil when parked and fortunately doesn't leak onto the exhaust or the driveshaft. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8
