New car water ingress help

Hi all - noticed my bt wasn’t working and someone pointed out they get wet... it was.. and it was soaking. It has a polythenes sheet behind it which was peeling off and water dripping off the sheet onto the bt. Also the driver side rear seatbelt is saturated but not the headlining anywhere? Any ideas where to start looking for this? I have noticed the sunroof sat back down about 8mm so have now reset it (07 s/c)

Ok update on this the rear driver side of the boot the headlong is wet and dripping near the rear fuse box - any ideas? As a temp fix when the rain stops I was going to try duct taping the gps unit? Current stable:

Dan

ISTR that the sunroof drains may block and cause this. There's quite a bit about water ingress if you search, even down to JLR retrofitting the plastic sheet. I am not sure but there may be a ventilation in the rear sidewalls of the boot storage cubbies. On other cars these sometimes break up and allow water into the area. Cheers

Right update after today’s downpour

front is not leaking so fixing the sunroof may have helped this - the boot is dry as a bone in both cubby holes so I’ll silicone the gps but the driver rear seat headlining is soaked down to that seatbelt so I’m guessing I’m going to drop the headlining now I know it’s coming from there!? Any ideas what it could be here? Is there a common thing?

Dan,
you might find this interesting (drain tube touching air cylinder solution) that I cured.

Morning got up early (in a rage about this) had a look it’s not touching and as I have deployable it looked like a massive ball ache before work - so had an idea rather using are to blow it clear (which I understand is a no no) I got the dyson out and fashioned a pipe to it with gaffa tape and I manage to suck enough crap out to then be able to blow it clear and out a couple of kettles of water down. Result! Current stable:

Hi all,

This is back again - not as bad but its definitely back.

So far I have >
cleared all drains and tested with a good flow.
Siliconed around the gps antenna.

today went out and pulled the rear driver seatbelt out and it was soaked after last nights down poor.
Also on the same side when I opened the boot a tidal wave of water ran down the right side of the boot.
It is parked n a slight angle so water would be on the right.

Is it normal for there to be a big rush of water like that? Where is the next place to check?

thanks Current stable:
