I changed my high level brake light today as I first thought was that it had blown. I tested the power to the light and that was fine it was only when I removed the old one I noticed corrosion around the plug connection on the lamp side at which point the wire fell out. If I was to do it again I would remove the plug and try connecting the wires.
I'm still happy that I change it as it looks much better with the new light fitted.
