Rear Propshaft Centre Bearing

It seems my centre bearing is failing, Ive had a very light metalic rattle / rumble for a little while. Now I have a distinct rumble between 30 and 50 mph, just been under the car and the centre bearing rubber has perished.

Have any of you guys replace the bearing only or done the whole shaft?

Did one on a RR sport which would be a very similar job, exhaust off then remove the heat shields. I just changed the whole unit as didn't fancy starting to split it. Better with two people as the exhaust and prop-shaft are heavy. Good luck Thumbs Up

Thanks DD, I have decided to chicken out and let Green Oval do it, a lot easier from a ramp, they say 1.5 hrs which is fine. BMW i3 Electric Car

Well Ive just got back from Green Oval. I turned up at 13:30 (30 minutes early), the car was straight on the ramp. At 14:30 I was on my way home job done. New GKN propshaft fitted, theyd had several issues when replacing the bearing only. Car now vibration and horrible noise free!

Thank you Green Oval, once again you came up with the goods, great service, great company, absolute respect.
