Foot rest too far forward

Is the driver's footrest on the floor (for the left foot) the same for all models of the L322? Are there different sizes/heights available?

The problem is, if I sit in a position where my right foot is comfortable for the throttle pedal and the brake, then my left foot doesn't reach the footrest. (my legs are of equal length Smile ) it needs about 50mm (2") more height.

I prefer the seat base fairly low, and the backrest fairly upright, which is probably a fairly normal driving position. I am 1,76m or 5'9", which must be a fairly average build for FFRR drivers.
Am I unique with this issue?

If I compare to the pedal positions in the D3 and RRS, the brake on the FFRR is much higher, ,and the footrest is much further forward on the FFRR.

Can't you take the rubber pad off the footrest and fit a spacer behind it?

Don't think it's ever been different heights across Model Years.

I'd suggest fabricating yourself some sort of extension and glueing it on, or, where some 70's heels like Elton John used to! Discovery 4 HSE

Thanks for the feedback guys, yes I have already gotten some shoe-sole rubber from a shoe repair shop and glued it onto the footrest. Just wondered if there was any "factory" fix or a way to move the brake pedal down.

Plus maybe I am just too used to the D3 seating position. Strange that they are different though. I my opinion, and that of my Physio, the seating position should allow you to have both Legs at the same extension to keep your back from twisting. The D3 achieves this

i've only got 'little legs' (29" inside leg) and find it too far away to be useful

just a thought? - i wonder how insurers would view changing a pedal to non manufacturers spec? - given they will use any excuse to get out of paying claims

"you're just a midget"

Well those of us with shorter legs have more chance of being labeled "tripod" Wink

On a Eur100k vehicle, you would expect the ergonomics to be universally good for all heights of people. I mean is 5'9" THAT short?

hi Stan

i realise its only the footrest - but insurance companies are a law unto themselves - anything they see as a 'modification' is subject to scrutiny

disc being loaded this pm hopefully - thanks Thumbs Up
