Location of VIN on a L322 chassis.

Hi everyone.
I've made the decision to re register my 2006 TD6 L322 and put it on French plates. As part of the process I have to provide a photo of the VIN stamped into the chassis.
Google has thrown up different results, so I'm looking for a definitive answer as to it's location before I start crawling under the car and removing the wheel well liners.
Where can I find the VIN stamped into the chassis.
Thank you. Travelling around in circles again.

JLR UK sent me a proforma, and on it they state that a photograph of the VIN stamped into the chassis is required.
I've emailed them to ask the location of the VIN, on the chassis, but they have not responded yet. Travelling around in circles again.

I take it you are asking for a Certificate of Conformity? If so provided your V5 has the eu number you don't need one. Just make sure the "Type" is on the V5. It is LM.

I have reregistered 2 RRs and a D2 if I can add anything and you wish to you could pm me a phone number. John

Thanks weegie. I've had it refused without the CoC in French. I'm in Dept 47. I will pm you and let you know how I get on.
Thanks. Travelling around in circles again.

Interesting, I've never had to provide photographs when importing vehicles here.

Currently beginning to re-register the new FF, got the Quitus, booked for CT early Sept.

Not applied for CoC as EU no' on V5, we'll see how I get on, although my daughters garage software recognizes my VIN for parts ordering, so fingers crossed.

Rich

Rich,
One thing to check is the "Type" and other subheadings under it on the V5. When I tried to register my Tdv8 two years ago, for some reason the Type was not shown. The eu number was there.

The other details re type were there but it was refused and I had to get a C of C. I got it from LR France, who did not require photographs. I have sent a link to J90.

The type should show "LM" and, if I had had a typewriter, I could probably have added it but I didn't think they would accept an ink addition Confused

Just a heads up. John

We'll see what happens John.

As it is all done online these days, I'm hoping that punching all the correct details will work.

I'll be doing it through the daughter's garage as they have the appropriate software/account etc. Smile

I take it the number that you are looking for is not the same as the one at the bottom of the windscreen left side?

The one behind the windscreen is the VIN It is stamped into the chassis I thought that was what you ask for in your first post?
That's why they put it there so it can be seen and not easily tampered with?

Sorry - cross purposes. J90 did ask for the VIN number. I thought you were referring to the eu number. John
