Probably a silly question:
I've order from aboard one filter plus gasket kit for the GM gearbox. The supplier only send me the filter and make a great mess with the gasket. Now I only have the filter. Here no one sell only the gasket.
Can I use the old gasket with a little of RTV silicone to prevent leaks?

If you are lucky the original gasket is made from alloy with a rubber lip. These come off easily with no damage and I would happily re-use if there was no option. If it helps the Gasket and filter from a BMW x5 with the same engine/gearbox is the exact same. There are 2 types of filter for this gearbox, one has the pickup from the bottom, the other from the edge. You want the one with the bottom pickup. 2007 TDV8 VSE
