2013-2016 nav screens

some here have replaced their 2012-2016 screens with android units so it got thinking that could these screens be replaced by the 2017 -2018 screens and will it all work...
could it be as simple as this for an upgrade or is there more to it.. ... - .- -.

The 2018+ infotainment screens definitely won't work in the 2012-2016. However, the 2017 screen could possibly work but I wouldn't want to be the one to experiment with that. The Android screens are our best option at this point. I've had mine for over 4 months now and it has been great. I use Apple CarPlay most of the time so I'm not even taking advantage of all the Android unit has to offer.

To upgrade to the 2017 Screen, you would have to also upgrade your telematics ECU and your 360 Camera ECU along with their corresponding harnesses. Plus coding. Its not worth it even buying used parts. It would be cheaper to sell your pre update l405 to a 2017
