I never judge anyone's house or car when I go to give a quote for an alarm, cctv, fire alarm etc, I don't like it done to me, so I don't do it to potential customers. I find if I put in a normal price, 9 times out of 10 I will get the job as other companies that go out and add extra on the job just because of a flash car etc work out a hell of a lot more expensive. It's worked a fair few times now too. 2006 Mercedes CLS

Exactly my point! They assume that because we have money (or NOT in my case!) that we will just throw it away. Needless to say, the overquoting brickie didn't get the job, so wasted his time and fuel bothering to give a quote!! My Previous RR's!

I was quoted £3.5k to get our Living Room, Kitchen and Dining Room. Now I don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out that's a bit steep. We don't have a FFRR yet but my D3 and SWMBO's X5 were sitting on the drive which probably contributed to the price being so high. My dad and uncle helped to do it in the end.

I got quoted £48k to make my garage 40cm higher and 5m longer so I could get the Camel 110 in there too.
Needless to say, the FFRR was parked on the drive at the time. Rolling Eyes

If I'm expecting salesmen/ estimators I ask the elderly lady across the courtyard if she would mind if I park the FFRR outside her house or on her drive if it is bin day (the bin wagon cannot turn round in the courtyard if there are any cars parked on the "street") - she loves having the Range Rover parked on a drive that is usually empty! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I wonder if this way of thinking will work the other way? I'm a carpet fitter so cant wait for the day that my transits in for a MOT and I turn up to a customers house with a whopping great through lounge on the roof of my SC!!

I gotta justify my prices somehow Thumbs Up

Ludzy maybe you should charge Prius owning clients a premium "green" charge and offer a "sympathy" discount to FFRR owners.............. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

It IS! It's Rangeism in it's worst form. We should let people know that Rangist behaviour will not be tolerated in our modern society! Thumbs Up My Previous RR's!

We should all have "RANGEISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED", as our signature.
