The optics of the reflectors/lens will not have been designed for LED's so by fitting them you will upset the beam pattern & loose the even "cut-off" you need for effective fog lights.

in many years of driving i cant remember ever using the front fogs...

There are lots of aftermarket LED fog lamps available so, just buy a set of LED fog lamps and pop yours in the box on a shelf in the shed |
