Brake pads - confused about which ones I need!

Getting myself all confused about brake pads

Taking advantage of ECP easter discount (or trying to!) I think I've got the right ones, but not 100% sure. Going by their registration search, it still comes up with multiple different shapes and sizes

The car is RR 2009 3.6TDV8, VIN number SALLMAM239A305xxx

Existing brakes are Brembo (on the front anyway, rears don't have any markings) so I selected Brembo ones from ECP and got these part numbers:

Rear: 10167022A
Front: 10167004A

Are those the right ones, can anyone help me confirm? I'm so confused with all the different shapes and sizes.

There are multiple different fitment types: Teves, Lucas, Brembo BS, TRW, Brembo. Am I reading too much into it? Is it just as simple as getting Brembo pads? Any help appreciated.

They're just different brands of pads for what are (I think on your model) Brembo callipers. They should all fit.

But before you're drawn to Brembo pads, there are lots of threads on here about Brembo not making pads, they just allow others to license the brand name or similar. eg https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic50408.html 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Thanks for the feedback Mike. I was aware of that thread, I think I'd skimmed over it once before. Anyway I was considering Brembo as a type of fitment rather than an actual manufacturer, wasn't getting especially hung up on them as a brand, more just to make sure it was the right size/shape

Anyway I've had a look over Rimmer Bros catalogue and figured out what the VIN digits mean, and think I've found the right ones for my car:

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-SFP500070BREMBO
https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-LR055454BREMBO

Think I was wrong on the fronts but OK on the rears, looking at the shapes. The front ones I had found on ECP look to be for earlier RRs up to 2005 or so. Anyway have decided to leave it for now - it's not that I actually need pads right now, more a case of get them while they were going cheap and use them when needed. But ECP have discounts very often so I can wait till another time and make sure I'm getting the right ones. 09 RR Westminster 3.6TDV8 - Stornoway Grey / Black interior - now gone (sad face)

the simplest way is to ask dan at duckworths for a cost ...you'll get the correct part at a competitive price..

Agree with stan - Dan is excellent.

And if you want to browse, Advanced Factors have an excellent guide for most common parts

4 pot Brembo brake pads are SFP500070

Rear pads (06-10MY) have many compatible part numbers, all originating from SFP500140/LR019627

Thumbs Up
