Just a couple of other identifiers of facelift vs non-facelift

Be aware of early cars 2002 - 2005 that have been updates to look like facelifts as there are few other indicators to show they are not except for their BMW engines. Facelifts were MY2006 so some early crossovers can be found with 55 registration. Other than bomb proof Jag engines the infotainment system was upgraded to touch screen but otherwise there was little change to the interior. The later Facelifts with a rotary knob for the Terrain Response system, the ignition key on the dash, and the extra aircon vent on top of the dash weren't introduced until the MY2007 from around end of Jan 2007. Other changes included then were the external C-pillar cover deleted and replaced with full glass to the rear windowd, a simple in-console cup holder design with sliding covers, an electronic handbrake, different seats with cooling fans and wood inserts to the doors. IMHO cars post 2007 have a more modern interior look and appeal particularly when the TD6 diesels were also then replaced by the superior TDV8. |
