I’ve got my TD6 up for sale but as I transferred the insurance policy to the tdv8 its no longer insured and therefore cannot be driven legally on a public road.

Take out temporary insurance or sell it to the trade or WBAC etc. |

I've always got a temporary cover which lasts around a month, just ask your insurer, it's common practice when selling vehicles. Last time I think it cost about £50 but that was a long time ago. If it goes on for over a month then the insurer might insist on getting full year cover instead of another temporary extension and it might actually work out cheaper when you come to claim back the unused when sold...depends on the policy. |

Was that from your own insurer or completely separate online company offering temporary insurance which tend to be expensive?

Not true. You often see this stated and it's just not true. Even without an MOT you'll still be insured with at least 3rd party minimum cover. |

You'll obviously need to tax it but is it possible to take out insurance online and cancel within the "cooling off" period Geoff |
