United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black
Is it possible?

Is it possible?

That the main dealer could update my vogue TD V8 MY2008 software with the wrong spec?

The reason I ask is that The invoices for all services and repairs from the main dealer since I have had the vehicle state the vehicle as HSE, All previous bills etc from previous owner state Vogue as does the V5.
After the last service I noticed that the Raise, Lower and Access messages were not showing in the dash notification area, Also the exterior temperature was showing 20 degrees centigrade on a freezing December morning.

The “free vehicle health check” flagged up a cart load of work that needed doing so I arranged for most of this to be done and delivered my vehicle at agreed date and time. I was having trouble with the battery, so told the service agent about it and also the problem with the dash notification area.

Long story short, the work was done including battery, but they said they couldn’t get the notifications to show on dash despite restoring software to before they did the work. Although it shows the raise lower and access on the 4X4 info screen it’s not the same and things need to be put right.

A couple of weeks ago I bought the IID Tool and first job was to plug in and read fault codes.
These in particular caught my eye as they were logged while at the main dealer.

Now I'm no expert on the l322 yet, but if they changed the battery then it will throw a number of errors. Not sure why they wouldn't have reset them though.

Those fault codes can safely be disregarded, tend to pop up regardless of whether everything is working OK or not, unless you have identified a specific problem in that area. Not related to you issues.

Of interest for some ECU's - updates available -RLM suspension ? Instrument Pack ?

Your issues are all pointing to a problem with the central nervous system of the car - battery / BCU / EAS .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

My Range Rover is much older than yours and is of BMW vintage. When I got her home I kept popping out to keep checking on her, as you do..... as it was getting darker it was then that I noticed that the interior light was on.

It would go out when I opened the door but would go on when closed the door, completely the opposite to the way it should have acted. There were also other odd things like switches not working, suspension not working properly and the dash reporting the doors were open when they were, in fact, closed.

I thought it was in travel mode but after prolonged and intense conversations with GAP I found that my car had actually been ‘updated’ with the wrong software. It was running software designed for another model, so in response to your question, yes it is possible that your car could have been updated to the wrong model of car’s software.

I was lucky, GAP downloaded the correct software to my IIDtool and I updated the BCU and everything has been fine since.

Good luck in your investigations Thumbs Up ______________________________
