Draper Expert oil extractor Q

Anybody managed to get a full sump in one go or like me do you have to do it in 2 stages? When I first got it and it stopped about halfway I tried pumping it more but I ended up totally disabling suction pump and had to dismantle it to get it working again. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I have been using mine several years and it always empties the full 9 L + in one go.
Once it starts filling I just stand back and watch.
Are you getting the oil hot enough before pumping, and removing the filler cap ??

That's good to hear . I've done it hot and cold with same results always with the filler cap and oil filter off. Cold took ages but it did get nearly 10L out. Maybe I'll take it apart again and see if I can see anything as it's way easier not having to decant it into an empty container 1/2 way through. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

The whole logic of buying an extractor with 10 L capacity is based on knowing you can suck it all out in one go without fear of spilling any, otherwise you may as well buy one of the various smaller capacity pumps that are much much cheaper..

I must admit mine is showing it’s age, but still working perfectly.., but as you will see from the many photos in my gallery, only on warm sunny days Rolling with laughter

Just had mine apart and couldn't se anything obviously wrong ( or anything to go wrong) but the lid seal was leaking slightly so re assembled it with some silicone grease and it seems to be holding so will give it a go this WE. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Oil change today and it failed again at 8L when the pump went stiff in both directions and wouldn't create any vacuum. The issue turned out to be a valve where the exterior black breather tube attaches to the base. Unscrew a plug and poke a small screwdiver in and a rubber 'thingy' on a small spring popped out and when pushed back it was working again. Some kind of one way valve but obviously a bit fragile. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
