DPF ?

I was trying to check my soot levels with my IID tool, but it was showing
as N/A.

I was under the assumption that my RR was fitted with DPF but after looking
around on here, it might be the case that it is not fitted to my model year

Can someone explain what to look for under the RR to tell if I have one fitted?

Max

Trying to make heads or tails on fitment of a DPF is confusing Confused

But, I think manufacturers of cars designed (homolgated?) prior to 2009 were allowed to offer the option of fitting DPF at build. Vehicles homolgated after 01/01/2009 had to have a DPF and all vehicles registered after 01/01/2011 had to have a DPF. Thus a 3.6TDV8 would be alllowed the option of no DPF, so if that's your FF then it may not have a DPF. A build sheet should show the info. Perhaps try entering your vin into vindecoderz.com, mine shows up as having a DPF.

I'm listening for the whoosh as someone pulls the rug out from under my feet Mr. Green Cheers

Well I had a look and am glad to see that I don't have a DPF, according to Stans picture also had a look at
the vin coder website and it only mentions an Eco class exhaustа Euro 4, for emissions.

Cheers Max

Yes, it was nice to find out there was none on the car.
From what I have been reading, I think about 2010 was the final year that you could choose to have one or not.
who would have ticked that box?

My son drives a BMW Diesel and has had plenty of trouble with
the DPF on that car.

More trouble than they are worth and very expensive when they get full up.

Triumph72, is yours a 3.6 or a 4.4? I thought all 4.4s had a dpf?

I might have to go and check mine... 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Yes and no. With heavy research I had mine removed, cleaned and put back for around £200.
