PHEV - Engine Burning Smell

I spend most of my time in EV-mode but I’ve noticed, on a couple of occasions recently, that when the Ingenium 2.0 petrol engine is laboured, a distinctive burning/smouldering smell gradually diffuses into the cabin. I’ve only clocked up 700 miles and am due to drop the vehicle into a service centre this Saturday. I will ask them to check but would be interested to know if anyone has experienced similar?
I did take her off-roading through some mud ruts the other day and waded through some rather muddy water - so perhaps something got into the engine bay. She was given a proper clean after, though - so would be a little surprised if that was it.

Took the vehicle in earlier today. Apparently the burning smell is a common trait in new Ingenium 2.0 petrol engines, and will not persist.
The service centre mentioned they’d had owners of other Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles report exactly the same thing - but only on these new 2.0 petrols.
